SunFlower Quilts February 2007 Newsletter

Happy February from SunFlower Quilts. That means we can look forward to Valentine's Day and Rodeo!  We have cute Valentine panels from Moda fabrics called "Hearts A Flutter".

Speaking of the rodeo, there is a cute line called "Bunkhouse" and don't forget "Cowboys and Cowgirls". We still have some kits left using this fun line.

There are some great classes scheduled for February: Paper Piecing, Starry Stack N Whack and Machine Quilting.  Check out the class schedule on the web site for all the winter classes available thru April 2007.

The Log Cabin Block of the Month kits will be available on February 15th. Come by and pick yours up.

We are starting a new Block of the Month series on February 28th.  It is called "Flower of the Month".  All the fabrics come from Northcott and are designed by Ro Gregg. The fabrics are beautiful.  The quilt measures 100" x 100" and is set on point.  The blocks are 21 1/2" square. There are 13 blocks so it will be a 13-month BOM.  The 13th month materials will include both your final block and also the finishing kit.  The cost is $19.99 per month. (This will include all fabrics including blocks, finishing kit fabrics and binding).  If you pay in full at time of registration you get 1 month free.  Come by and see February's block, you will want to sign up!

 

We have more information including a sign-up sheet that you can print and pictures of the quilt on the Block of the Month page of the web site.

New charm packs are in from Moda -"Renewal", "Sanctuary" (fabric coming soon).  From RJR Fabrics, we have Thimbleberries "House and Garden", "Flower Maze" and "Little Pretties".  A sweet new Easter line came in from Clothworks called "Dipped Chicks".

It's here, the new Turning 20 Book, the 3rd in a series called Turning 20 Around the Block. What an easy way to use focus fabrics, appliqué or embroidered blocks.  Why you could even use photos!

The second meeting of Thimbleberries Club 2007 will be Friday February 9th or Sunday February 11th. We have information about the Thimbleberries Club and a picture of the quilt on the web site Block of the Month page. Give us a call if you have any other questions. We have a finished quilt in the shop, so drop in and see what it looks like.

The Quilt Pink "Airing of the Quilts" was Saturday January 20th.  We had over 50 quilts on display. Logan did such a great job of displaying the quilts for us and the rain held off for most of the day. It was a great opportunity to see the quilts before we shipped them off to American Patchwork and Quilting Magazine in Iowa. All the quilts turned out gorgeous and a great big thanks goes out to all who participated in this wonderful event. Check the web site for photos of that day!

 

The online auction of the quilts is scheduled for Spring 2007. We will let you know the web site location for bidding on the quilts as soon as we find out.

Thanks to all who came to Idea Saturday! Idea Saturday is the 3rd Saturday every other month at 9am sharp.

 

The next Idea Saturday is March 17th, put it on your calendar. Come by for some ideas and receive a free project booklet with each idea.  There will be refreshments, come by, it's a fun morning.

"That Quilter" Donna Warnement will be here the first Tuesday, February 6th, from 10 - noon.  Bring your tops for quilting or pick up one from last month.  Donna does beautiful work!

The Moda U Postcard Mystery Quilt Club will meet the last Saturday, February 24th, from 4-5pm.  The blocks are $8 per month.  Call us for more details.
