July is here! Where did June go?

forth of july
There are lots of things happening in July, especially the celebration of July 4th. Take time to remember how blessed we are to live in this great country! We will be closed Wednesday July 4th in observance of the holiday.

If you are traveling for the holidays, don’t forget to pick up your copy of the Quilter’s Travel Companion book. They have every quilt shop in North America listed so you can stop and visit! All the quilt shops are so different, so be sure to include them in your travels!

EXCITING NEWS: You can now shop online! Our online shop is open and ready to take your orders! Just go to our web site and click on the online shop. Check it often as we are adding items to it daily. If you can’t find what your looking for just ask us, as we don’t have everything listed yet.

We will start a new Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Sam embroidered Block of the Month on July 15th. It is a 14 month BOM. For each of the first 12 months, you will receive a pieced pinwheel block and an embroidered block with all fabrics, flosses and directions. For the 13 and 14th months you will receive the last 2 embroidered blocks. Also in the 14th month, you will receive directions and all the fabrics for the finishing kit including the binding fabric. The backing fabric is not included. The cost is $19.99 per month. The cost of the finishing kit is included in the monthly fee, so there will be no large finishing kit fee at the end of the BOM. As always, if you pay in full at time of registration, you will get 1 month free! We are so excited about this new BOM, the setting is our own design! You have to come see the quilt, it turned out wonderful, the quilt is very easy to make, there are 12 pinwheel blocks, 7 Sunbonnet Sue embroidered blocks, 7 Overall Sam embroidered blocks and 4 redbird drunkards path blocks. We know you will want to sign up!

Check our web site to see the quilt. We also have an information sheet and registration sheet for you to download. Better yet, come by and see it in person! “That Quilter” Donna Warnement did a wonderful job quilting the quilt!

Thanks to all who attended the Wild Wild West Shop Hop this year! We all had so much fun! The winners are announced on the Shop Hop web site. Check to see if you won. Also, the 9 shop's quilts are presented on the web site so you can see them all. The quilts will be donated to MD Anderson's online auction in the Spring of 2008 to raise money for Ovarian cancer awareness and research! Don’t forget to donate a 12 ½” predominately teal unfinished block to any of the 9 participating shops through mid September. We will have a joint sew in on September 23rd from 2 – 8 pm involving all 9 shops and all sewers, quilters and helpers to put all of the blocks into quilt tops to be donated on the MD Anderson auction site!
