SunFlower Quilts August 2007 Newsletter

Summer SunWelcome to the August SunFlower Quilts Newsletter.

August is upon us. Fall, Halloween and Christmas fabrics have been coming in like crazy!

We started our  new Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Sam embroidered BOM on July 15th.  It's not too late to start! It is a 14 month BOM.  The cost is $19.99 per month, the finishing kit is included in the monthly fee, so there will be no large finishing kit fee at the end of the BOM.  As always, if you pay in full at time of registration you will get 1 month free!!  You have to come see the quilt, it turned out wonderful. The quilt is very easy to make. There are 12 pinwheel blocks, 7 Sunbonnet Sue embroidered blocks, 7  Overall Sam embroidered blocks and 4 redbird drunkards path blocks. Check our web site to see the quilt and to get the info sheet and registration sheet or better yet come by and see it in person!

We are still working on the Ovarian Cancer Awareness project. Don't forget to donate a 12 ½" predominately teal unfinished block to any of the 9 participating shops thru mid September to raise awareness for Ovarian cancer.  We will have a joint sew in on September 23rd from 2 - 8 pm involving all 9 shops and their customers from the Wild Wild West Shop Hop and all sewers, quilter's etc. to put all of the blocks into quilt tops to be donated on the MD Anderson auction site!  We are so excited that our shop has received almost 70 blocks already!!  We have a goal of 150 blocks, there's still plenty of time!  We will collect them through the middle of September.   We have the best and most caring customers and feel so blessed!  There's lots more info on the web site look for the Shop Hop Update.
