SunFlower Quilts March Newsletter
March 2009 is here and we are starting month 3 in celebrating our 5th year anniversary! We want to thank all of you our wonderful customers for making SunFlower Quilts what it is today and for all of your support! We know that without our wonderful customers we would not still be here 5 years later! We have some great anniversary specials this year to announce. Don’t forget to look at your newsletter at the beginning of each month for a special anniversary coupon to use during the specified month! Each month will have a different anniversary coupon so be sure and check your newsletter. You must present your coupon in order to get the special of the month. The weather is starting to warm up and the trees are blooming, Spring is around the corner! What a great time to start a new project! Come see all of our new spring fabrics and projects!
That Quilter Donna Warnement will NOT be here the first Tuesday in March. Her husband Bill will finally be coming home in the next day or two! Donna has rescheduled for Tuesday March 17 from 10 am – 12:00 noon. You can still bring your tops for Donna to quilt, (we will make sure she gets them) or pick up a quilt that is ready from Donna, or just come for the fun show and tell of all the beautiful quilts! SunFlower Quilts Mystery Quilt Club meetings in March are Sunday March 8, 2009 from 2-3pm or Thursday March 12, 2009 from 6-7pm. We have more information on the website: http://www.SunFlower-Quilts.com
Idea Saturday Our next “Idea Saturday” will be Saturday March 21st, 2009 at 9am sharp! Come by and we will share at least 5 ideas and have free instructions for each idea! We will have refreshments as well! You can get the instructions free at 9am; if we have any “Idea Saturday” booklets left they will be $5.
Our next Charm School is Saturday April 18th at 9am sharp! Remember if you pre pay by April 11th you receive 5% off. If you don’t pre pay for the Charm School Project Pack we can’t guarantee there will be one left for you as we have a limited amount of extra packs. You can get all the info and register for Charm School on the web site (http://www.SunFlower-Quilts.com) or come by the shop to register! You can see February’s charm quilt on the home page of our web site. The April project Charm pack will contain1 92 charm squares and cost $49.99. Remember if you pre pay your cost for the Charm pack it will be $47.49 with your 5% discount, and you will be guaranteed to get the charms. There is also a registration fee of $5 plus tax to receive the pattern. Get ready to learn lots about using 5” Charm squares! We are going to have sew much fun! Let us know if you have any questions. Book Signing! We are pleased to announce the author of Just a Quilt? Dalen Keys to our shop on May 22, 2009 for a special book signing! His new book Just a Quilt? Is a wonderfully written and illustrated children’s book! He will be here Friday May 22, 2009 from 11am -3pm. Please mark your calendars and come by to meet him. His new book is a delight! We are working on 2 new BOM’s and will have details soon!
New fabrics: We just got in some new Civil War fabrics. Lots of new Moda fabrics have come in and as always they are beautiful! Hill Country, a great bluebonnet collection; Sultry; Soiree; Collections Traditions; Udder Cowboy; and Swanky. Ovarian cancer awareness and research update: The sew in on January 18th was a great success! Thanks to all the volunteers who came and thanks to everyone who made a block! The quilts turned out great! We made over 40 tops. We still need your HELP; we have 4 tops here at the shop that need to be quilted! We need volunteers to quilt. If you can just take one please let us know. We have volunteers to do the binding! Please contact us and let’s work together to get theses done for MD Anderson! We have until July 2009 to have them done.
Classes are NOW listed on the classes page of the web site. Check them out there are some great classes. http://www.SunFlower-Quilts.com/classes.htm We will add more classes as they become available. The Twisted Sister class date has been changed to Sunday April 26th.
