SunFlower Quilts April Newsletter
*April 2009 is here and we are starting month 4 of celebrating our 5th year anniversary! We want to thank all of you our wonderful customers for making SunFlower Quilts what it is today and for all of your support! We know that without our wonderful customers we would not still be here 5 years later! We have some great anniversary specials this year to announce. Don’t forget to look at your newsletter at the beginning of each month for a special anniversary coupon to use during the specified month! The April coupon is at the end of this newsletter. Each month will have a different anniversary coupon, so be sure and check your newsletter. You must present your coupon in order to get the special of the month. The weather is starting to warm up and the trees are blooming, Easter is this month! Come see all of our new spring fabrics and projects!
*Special 5th Year Anniversary Announcement! Beginning May 4, 2009 you will have an opportunity to win up to 5 SunFlower Quilts quilt samples (the quilts are quilted and bound)! Here is how it works:
For 5 consecutive weeks starting May 4th, for every $10 of merchandise (excluding sales tax, gift certificates, custom quilts and class fees) that you purchase, you will receive a ticket that may be drawn on the following Saturday at 4pm (you do not have to be present to win). For example if you purchase $10 in merchandise before tax you will receive 1 ticket. If you purchase $35 before tax you will receive 3 tickets and so on. The 5 quilt samples will be on display at the shop and online on our web site in mid April. After the drawing on Saturday, we will discard the remaining tickets from the previous week and new opportunities for winning the next quilt will begin at 10am Monday for the following Saturday drawing. We will continue for 5 consecutive Saturdays! That means you could possibly WIN 5 quilt samples! The 5 Saturdays are May 9; May 16; May 23; May 30; and our BIG anniversary celebration Saturday June 6th! We are looking forward to our 5th year of being blessed to serve your quilting and sewing needs! We certainly appreciate your loyalty and the many friendships as customers and know that we could not have succeeded without YOU!
*That Quilter Donna Warnement will be here the first Tuesday April 7th, from 10 am – 12:00 noon!. Her husband Bill is doing better! It will be great to see her again as we have certainly been missing her! You can bring your tops for Donna to quilt or pick up a quilt that is ready from Donna, or just come for the fun show and tell of all the beautiful quilts! Donna does a great job! *SunFlower Quilts Mystery Quilt Club meetings in April are Sunday April 19, 2009 from 2-3pm or Thursday April 16, 2009 from 6-7pm.
*SunFlower Quilts Civil War Quilt Club will meet the 1st Saturday April 4, 2009 from 4:30 -7:30pm
*Our next Charm School is Saturday April 18th at 9am sharp! Remember if you pre pay by April 11th you receive 5% off. If you don’t pre pay for the Charm School Project Pack we can’t guarantee there will be one left for you as we have a limited amount of extra packs. You can get all the info and register for Charm School on the web site (click here) or come by the shop to register! You can see February’s charm quilt on the home page of our web site. The April project Charm pack will contain1 92 charm squares and cost $49.99. Remember if you pre pay, your cost for the Charm pack it will be $47.49 with your 5% discount, and you will be guaranteed to get the charms. There is also a registration fee of $5 plus tax to receive the pattern. Get ready to learn lots about using 5” Charm squares! We are going to have sew much fun! Let us know if you have any questions. *Fat Quarters price increase. Due to the rising cost of fabric we are raising our fat ¼’s to $2.50 from $2.40 effective April 1st.
*Idea Saturday: Our next “Idea Saturday” will be Saturday May 16, 2009 at 9am sharp! Come by and we will share at least 5 ideas and have free instructions for each idea! We will have refreshments as well! You can get the instructions free at 9am; if we have any “Idea Saturday” booklets left they will be $5.
*Book Signing! We are pleased to announce the author ofJust a Quilt? Dalen Keys to our shop on May 22, 2009 for a special book signing! His new book Just a Quilt? Is a wonderfully written and illustrated children’s book! He will be here Friday May 22, 2009 from 11am -3pm. Please mark your calendars and come by to meet him. His new book is a delight! *Block of the Month Kits Garden Friends BOM kits were ready March 25th. This is the last month for Garden Friends BOM. We are working on 2 new BOM’s and will have details soon! We will start a new BOM in May, it is a Texas themed BOM and we will have more details and have the quilt hanging soon! We know you will want to participate because of course it is Texas!
*New fabrics: Lots of new Moda fabrics have come in and as always they are beautiful! Northern Solitude; Legacy; Sultry; Soiree; Collections Traditions; Udder Cowboy; and Swanky. 2 new children’s lines from Clothworks, one is called “Let’s Race” a cute race car fabric line and “Funny Farm” has tractors and farm animals! *Ovarian cancer awareness and research update: We still need your HELP; we have 2 tops here at the shop that need to be quilted! We need volunteers to quilt. If you can just take one please let us know. We have volunteers to do the binding! Please contact us and let’s work together to get these done for MD Anderson! We have until July 2009 to have them done.
*Classes are NOW listed on the classes page of the web site (click here) check them out, there are some great classes. We will add more classes as they become available. The Twisted Sister class date has been changed to Sunday April 26th.
We will be closed on Easter Monday April 13, 2009 but will be open Good Friday April 10 and Saturday April 11th!
