*That Quilter Donna Warnement will be here the first Tuesday June 2nd from 10 am – 12:00 noon. You can bring your tops for Donna to quilt or pick up a quilt that is ready from Donna, or just come for the fun show and tell of all the beautiful quilts! Donna does a great job!

*Special 5th Year Anniversary Announcement! Here is how it works:
For 5 consecutive weeks starting May 4th for every $10 of merchandise (excluding sales tax, gift certificates, custom quilts and class fees) that you purchase you will receive a ticket that may be drawn on the following Saturday at 4pm (you do not have to be present to win). For example if you purchase $10 in merchandise before tax you will receive 1 ticket. If you purchase $35 before tax you will receive 3 tickets and so on. The 5 quilt samples will be on display at the shop and online on our web site in mid April. After the drawing on Saturday, we will discard the remaining tickets from the previous week and new opportunities for winning the next quilt will begin at 10am Monday for the following Saturday drawing. We will continue for 5 consecutive Saturdays! That means you could possibly WIN 5 quilt samples! The 5 Saturdays are May 9; May 16 ; May 23; May 30; and our BIG anniversary celebration Saturday June 6th! We are looking forward to our 5th year in being blessed to serve your quilting and sewing needs! We certainly appreciate your loyalty and the many friendships as customers and know that we could not have succeeded without YOU!

*Saturday June 6th is our 5th anniversary birthday party! Everyone that comes to the shop on Saturday will receive a Free birthday present, after all it is a birthday party! All day we have scheduled special sales but you need to be present to be a part of the birthday deals. We will also be giving away party favors (door prizes) throughout the day.

*Book Club Coming in August!
Sunflower Quilts proudly presents BOOK CLUB. And it’s not just another book to read. No pop quizzes, either. This is a monthly program that, if you follow the rules, will give you twelve 12” blocks (instructions and free fabric for all twelve blocks! Plus the choice of 1 of 6 different settings at an additional cost which are optional).
Here’s what to do:

Enroll by August 1, 2009.
Choose either a batik or floral color way
Choose a BOOK CLUB Day – either the fourth Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am or the fourth Saturday of each month at 10:00 am or 2:00 pm.
Pay a nominal one time BOOK CLUB enrollment fee of $26.00 (includes the book used for the entire twelve months.)
Follow the rules to receive your monthly block kit ABSOLUTELY FREE.

* The Wild Wild West Shop Hop dates have been set for Thursday June 18th –Sunday June 21st! There are 11 shops this year and lots of fun to be had. Go to www.wildwildwestshophop.com for maps of the shops and more details!

*Our next Charm School is Saturday June 20th at 9am sharp! Hint: this month’s charm quilt requires absolutely NO cutting. If you pre pay by June 13th you receive 5% off. If you don’t pre pay for the Charm School Project Pack we can’t guarantee there will be one left for you as we have a limited amount of extra packs. You can get all the info and register for Charm School on the web site or come by the shop to register! You can see April’s charm quilt on the home page of our web site. The June project Charm pack will contain 169 charm squares and cost $43.99. Remember, if you pre pay your cost for the Charm pack it will be $41.49 with your 5% discount, and you will be guarantee d to get the charms. There is also a registration fee of $5 plus tax to receive the pattern. Get ready to learn lots about using 5” Charm squares! We are going to have sew much fun! Let us know if you have any questions. Looking for something new? We have it, and it’s called Show ‘N’ Tell Saturday! On July 11, 2009 at 10am sharp we will be kicking off our new, Free Show ‘N’ Tell Saturdays! Remember, back in school when everyone would bring their favorite things to show the class? Well, that’s basically what Show ‘N’ Tell Saturday! is. As a “teller”, bring a project to show; or as a listener, come for some great inspiration! If you bring a project to show, we’ll even give you a gift for taking yo ur time to share with us. Come by the shop for all the details!

Do you need a Jump Start?

Just a little kick start to get that project going? Here’s how Sunflower Quilts can help you. It’s called our Jump Start Corner, and it’s coming this month. So, what is a Jump Start, and how does it work? Easy. . . First, choose a pattern or book from the variety available in the Jump StarT Corner. Second, choose your fabrics from our Jump Start fabric packs (coordinated fabric bundles pre-selected specifically for these projects). And last, customize your project by selecting the finishing fabrics (i.e. sashing, border, background, binding, and backing). With our customers in mind., we have chosen Jump Start projects that are user friendly (most have been tested by the staff). Sometimes we will eve n give you a Sunflower Quilts exclusive tip sheet. These projects will vary by month so check the Jump Start corner often. Remember, it’s easy to get started with a Jump Start. . .just CHOOSE your pattern or book, SELECT your Jump Start fabric pack, CUSTOMIZE, and SEW!

*SunFlower Quilts Mystery Quilt Club meetings in June are Sunday June 14, 2009 from 2-3pm or Thursday June 11, 2009 from 6-7pm.

*SunFlower Quilts Civil War Quilt Club will meet the 4th Saturday June 27, 2009 from 4:30 -7:30pm.

*Block of the Month We will start our new BOM on June 15th; it is a Texas themed BOM. You can see the quilt hanging in the shop or on our blog www.sunflower-quilts.blogspot.com Hurry and sign up soon as there are only a few spaces left! We know you will want to participate because of course it is Texas!

*Idea Saturday: Our next Idea Saturday” will be Saturday July, 2009 at 9am sharp! Come by and we will share at least 5 ideas and have free instructions for each idea! We will have refreshments as well! You can get the instructions free at 9am; if we have any “Idea Saturday” booklets left they will be $5.

*New fabrics and New Books: Lots of new Moda fabrics have come in and as always they are beautiful! Water Garden; Sorbet; Northern Solitude; Legacy; Sultry; Soiree; Collections Traditions; Udder Cowboy; and Swanky. 2 new children’s lines from Clothworks, one is called “Let’s Race” a cute race car fabric line and “Funny Farm” has tractors and farm animals! *Ovarian cancer awareness and research update: We need to have all the quilted tops back before July 1st so we can get the binding done. We have volunteers to do the binding! Please contact us and let’s work together to get these done for MD Anderson! We have until July 1, 2009 to have them done.
